CHEPSTOW is to host the finale of British Cycling's elite series.

The Welsh Criterium on Wednesday, July 30 will see many of the riders who competed in the National Road and Time Trial championships last month return to Monmouthshire.

The race could include such cycling stars as Adam Yates who won this year's Tour of Turkey and was sixth in the National Road championships.

The stars will be on the starting line at 8pm following youth races beforehand.

The route is over a 1.17km course which starts and finishes at the Chepstow Castle car park on Bridge Street.

The main race will take place over six laps and take an hour to complete.

There will be road closures in the town centre from 4.30pm.
