RICHARD Eagle's final ride was on the train he loved surrounded by friends and his sister Kathy.

Mr Eagle, of Christchurch, Coleford died after apparently falling from Symonds Yat Rock last month.

The Diesel Multiple Unit carried his coffin from Parkend to Lydney before a service at Holy Trinity Church, Drybrook.

He was buried in Christchurch graveyard next to the house he loved and shared with his sister.

At the request of his family many people came dressed in 1940s clothes in tribute to the keen re-enactor.

Miss Eagle said: "We took Rich for a train ride. It was a nice church service and burial."
