I was interested to read your editorial in last week's Review regarding the interruption to weekend peace and quiet caused by strimmers, chainsaws etc. Well after the weekend the residents of Sling and its surrounding area have just endured, believe me the noise created by people working in their gardens is nothing compared with the constant boom-boom-boom of ridiculously loud pop music which started on Friday evening and continued all day Saturday from 10.30 in the morning for a further 12 hours non-stop.

Following only a week after the awful scenes at The Speech House, surely it is time to question whether anything can be done to prevent such events taking place, or at least to ensure that they are properly licensed and supervised. Presumably the local taxpayers meet the cost of the extra policing and any environmental damage that occurs, not the businesses exploiting the Forest and having such little regard for their neighbours. – David Chapman, Ellwood.
