IT is not often that one agrees with Wendy Corum. In her letter of last week's Review entitled 'GM Crops' her fears about what that stuff may do are shared by so many people. Tests to discover whether or not GM crops would benefit people and animals should be conducted under laboratory conditions only, not irresponsibly tried out in public, especially against the wishes of the public.

Unfortunately her letter in the previous week's Review headed 'Star Wars' does not deserve so much praise. It is the first responsibility of government to defend the Realm, therefore Great Britain should ensure we have sufficient nuclear weapons to be able to smash into oblivion any two other countries. With that sort of power, Wendy Corum could rest happily in her bed at nights knowing no one else on earth would dare so much as point a threatening finger at us. – Anthony Reeve, Broad Street, Littledean.
