WHILE travelling from Coleford to Mitcheldean in a high vehicle, a car was stopped at Brierley after just hitting a large stag into a ditch, with the animal still alive.

The following day the said animal was still there with no sign of life.

After several days of travelling this route the animal was still there. I rang the Forestry first to report it but had the response ‘no one was available’.

I then tried the Forest of Dean Council who said that they would contact the Forestry to get it removed.

Three weeks have gone by and the animal’s body is still there – but now has a body of a large boar there as well.

To this end, who is responsible for the removal of these animals in this instance as this could now become a health hazard? – John Preest, Coleford.
