IF YOU have a yearning to get back to the days of beehive hair-dos, jive and the classic 50s hop, then a new rock 'n' roll club could be just your scene.

Lydbrook rock 'n' roll club is set to open at the village's social club on April 6 under guidance of Joe and Lesley Luker.

To kick start the first night there will be live music from newly formed 'Rocket 56' performing songs from the 50s and a few from the 60s and Lesley will be on hand to teach what she describes as: "Very simple rock 'n' roll moves to enable anyone to join the dancers on the floor as quickly as possible."

From the second week onwards (April 13) the club will be playing some of the best records of the era and basic dance tuition will be on offer.

Lydney rock 'n' roll club will run every Wednesday from 7pm to 11pm from Lydbrook Social Club which has a good dance floor, bar and friendly atmosphere.
