A CAT from Caldicot has won a nationwide competition run by the pet insurer, Petplan, to feature in a television advert.

Rosalie, a Maine Coon cat, went head-to-head with 29,000 other pets to win a starring role in the advert which debuted last Wednesday (July 17).

Rosalie found fame after her owner Liz Houghton submitted her photograph to Petplan's Facebook page in February. Rosalie was then chosen as one of the 100 finalists by an independent panel of judges before being selected as one of 42 winners by public vote on the Petplan Facebook page.
