A BUSY Cinderford road is closing next week for resurfacing works.
Highways crew say it will be necessary to close Ruspidge Road between St Whites Road and the junction with Tramway Road while they remove and relay the tarmac.
The works are taking place between Wednesday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 29.
Traffic will be affected each weekday from 7.30am until 5.30pm. Outside of these hours, and at the weekend, the road will be open as usual.
A diversion will be in place via Cinderford and Upper Soudley. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency vehicles.
School buses will be escorted through the work.
Cllr Vernon Smith, Cabinet member for highways, said: “I’d like to thank local people for their patience while we get the new road surface put down.”
Cllr Graham Morgan, local county councillor for Cinderford, added: “I welcome these improvements for Ruspidge Road and I’m glad to see that arrangements have been made for the school buses to be allowed through the work zone.”
