THERE are fears that plans to sell electricity generated from the Chepstow Drill Hall could be more of an albatross around the neck than cash cow.
The hall's management committee has started sounding out interest from potential investors with talk of a three per cent return over 10 years.
The Drill Hall is owned by Monmouthshire council but leased to Chepstow town council and run by a management committee on its behalf.
Some councillors were furious that the management committee appeared to be pressing ahead with the project without getting the go-ahead from the full council and there were concerns about what would happen if the costs were not met by investors.
