IN response to your recent letter, we find it disheartening that Friends Of The Boar has decided to distance itself from all other animal groups in the forest.
In the past Gloucestershire Against Badger Shootings have been happy to pass on Friends Of The Boar press releases, and help to spread their message amongst its support base. We have found that although primarily a single cause group, like Friends Of The Boar, our support base is made up of animal lovers who don't decide to limit their concern to one species.
We find the casual dismissal of other animal welfare concerns egocentric and self defeating, and the derisory tone when talking about reptile groups, badgers and hunt sabs insulting.
Gloucestershire Against Badger Shootings is a peaceful group, and not involved in direct action, but if people choose to protect wildlife by actively policing the hunts, we would not put them down for it.
I finish by saying that it is with sadness we end our working with Friends Of The Boar, but look forward to working with other groups looking to protect all of our wildlife, nationally and locally.
We will put the points on merchandise and social media to the RSPCA, and Team Badger, to tell them they are wasting their time communicating in these ways. I'm sure they will be grateful for your advice.
