I'M writing today a huge 'thank you' to you at the Review and to all your readers. As a direct result of the coverage you gave me, my exhibition of oil paintings of the Forest of Dean was an outstanding success!
Of the 52 paintings I exhibited, 23 of them sold and I received a further eight commissions, many of which are to paint similar paintings to the ones which had already sold!
The painting of the two stags in the Forest pictured in the article could have sold three times over.
The couple who bought it had travelled from Caldicot especially to view the painting you photographed me with (so a special thank you to Steve, the photographer, for choosing that one).
I asked everyone where they had seen the exhibition advertised and the majority said they had seen the article in the Review. As a direct result of your help and support I have been overwhelmed by the response. Therefore I thank you and all the readers who took the time to visit the exhibition. There was not a moment from 9.30am until 5pm that the Memorial Hall was not thronging with people visiting.
Thank you to everyone and I hope you will all coe to the next one! I will be taking part in the Open Studio's in July this year and look forward to seeing everyone again. Thank you. – Sarah King, Whitecroft.
