SINGING sensation and 'I'm a Celeb' hero Stacey Solomon will be wowing visitors and staff when she opens the Great Oaks Forest Hospice fete this Saturday (June 18).
Stacey, from Essex, has Forest connections and last year she was in Lydney during June to entertain at the Relay for Life cancer charity event. Crowds came to hear her and have autograph books signed.
Her grandfather was at the time a cancer survivor living in the Forest but he has recently sadly passed away.
While Stacey is opening the fete she may not be singing on this occasion.
Stacey rose to fame when she won the sixth contest in the TV series The X-Factor and afterwards became the popular entertainer she is today. More recently she won the tenth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
Getting Stacey to open the Hospice Fete is a great coup for the organisers, who are promising a terrific family event with lots of stalls, crafts and gifts, plants, books, tombola, children's games, music from Pillowell Silver Band, and refreshments.
"We are all really looking forward to meeting Stacey Solomon and having her open the show," said a spokesman for the hospice.
