FOREST Sensory Services has been awarded an Awards For All Lottery grant of £10,000 to help continue their services.
The Cinderford-based charity, in Foxes Bridge, plans to use the money to launch new fitness groups and a nutritional healthy eating cookery course.
Forest Sensory Services supports people with sight and hearing loss, to reduce isolation.
The cookery course will, hopefully, take place at Harts Barn Cookery School on a Monday afternoon and will be led by a tutor from Gloucestershire College.
Manager of Forest Sensory Services, Jenny Green said: “As everyone attending will have a sensory impairment, Forest Sensory Services are looking for willing volunteers to help in the class and ensure the safety of the students.
“All volunteers will be given appropriate bespoke training to support a sensory-impaired person in their chosen activity.”
For more information on becoming a volunteer or attending an activity call Jenny on 01594 827711.
