THANK you for publishing my last letter telling petitioners for the restoration of the pre-March 2014 timetable of the situation with Stagecoach on this matter.
Since then I have had a letter from Rupert Cox managing director Stagecoach West, restating that for them the 24 route was one of the least profitable Forest routes and changing the timetable was their way to improve passenger numbers.
He also asked for suggestions to help numbers.
I have replied requesting restoration of the old timetable and also a restoration of the new buses, seen briefly last year, to give reliability.
Since then the new September timetable for Forest buses has appeared which shows little change to the 24 route except late in the evening when there is an extension between Joys Green and Cinderford.
It is hoped this will help some people. Also of help to more people is the new weekday bus from Cinderford through Mitcheldean to Ross, which will help shoppers and is run by Bevan's bus company. Phone Bevan's for details.
Thank you for your help in informing Forest people of transport in these difficult times.
– B Waddell, 24 petition co-ordinator, Mitcheldean.
