THIS was the scene a Littledean man awoke to on Bank Holiday Monday after a car allegedly hit his wall.

Jason Lamb, who lives in Newnham Road, says drivers are travelling far too fast and only two days before this car overturned at 5.30am his motorbike mirror was smashed off.

He said: “We normally park our car outside overnight in the bell mouth of the driveway but, since I had my mirror knocked off, we decided to take the car in. If we hadn’t, the overturned car would have landed on our car, the driver may have not been as lucky and my car would have been written off.

“Over the years we have had many near-misses and small crashes where people are travelling too fast.

“This car must have been going fast to move the wall pillar like it did.”

Police were called to the scene after the road was partially blocked. A woman, from Whitecroft, was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink and drugs. She was also taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with a minor hand injury.
