SNEAKY thieves have nabbed the super present Roger James was saving up as a birthday present for his son Adam, who will be three in the autumn.

"They took it virtually from under our noses," said Mr James, who was keeping the pink and white Yamaha PW50 in a warehouse at the back of his OfficeStar premises.

"They had to go though my office and another warehouse to reach it. I left the premises at 11am and returned at 2pm on Wednesday, May 6, to find it gone when I came back.

"I had it there for a week and was going to give it to Adam for an early present. I brought him the helmet to go with it and that's all he has now.

"I was thinking about insuring it at the end of the week but I though it would be safe for a little while – in order to get something like that insured you have to have secure fittings cemented into the floor and chains, so I hadn't got round to all that.

"I'm absolutely gutted. Bikes like that are very hard to find, like gold dust. I had been looking for one for around two years, and then I found it – only to have it stolen.

"Now I will just have to look out for another one if it doesn't turn up – the police say they cannot be hopeful about finding it, although it is very distinctive and there can't be all that many of them around."

He is offering a £100 reward for information leading to its recovery.

Anyone who has information about the bike or who is offered one to buy should contact the police on 01452 335503 quoting incident number 360.
