THE Solicitors Regulation Authority has 'intervened' in the former practice of Thorpe and Thorpe Solicitors which had branches in Cinderford and Ross on Wye.

The SRA has powers to close firms down in certain circumstances and such a closure is called an 'intervention'.

An 'intervention' agent has now been appointed to handle all papers, documents and monies obtained from Thorpe and Thorpe.

The agent is Mr Robert Capper, partner in Harrison Clark Solicitors.

The company explained: "Thorpe and Thorpe Solicitors are now closed and can no longer act for you. Harrison Clark now holds client files and papers recovered from the firm.

"If you are a former client of Thorpe and Thorpe and wish to obtain any documents please contact us directly on 01905 744998 or email [email protected]">[email protected]"

A spokesman for Harrison Clark stressed that: "If Thorpe and Thorpe were acting for you on matters which are not yet finalised you will need to appoint a new solicitor to complete this on your behalf."
