WORK on the A40 Trunk Road at Huntley Hill, west of Gloucester, will require a 40mph speed limit starting on April 21.
The measure is in the interests of road safety until embankment stabilisation works and the installation of a permanent safety barrier can be carried out, says the Highways Agency.
It is expected that the speed limit will last until the danger to the public has ended.
Work is also taking place until Friday (March 25) to replace the traffic signals in Huntley village on the A40. Temporary signals will be used to control the junction during this time.
Gloucestershire County Council will be undertaking essential drainage repairs at the same time.
