AROUND 294 motorists were caught speeding on key Forest roads last month, according to figures from Gloucestershire's Road Safety Partnership.
The bulk of the offenders were caught on the A48 at Woolaston, where in total 89 motorists were caught exceeding the speed limit by mobile speed detection vans across seven visits.
Just behind was the B4221 at Picklenash School, in Newent, where 58 people had offended over seven visits.
Some 43 people were caught in seven visits at Fancy Road Bream, while 40 people were caught in six visits at the B4231 Coleford Road Bream. The B4228 at Perrygrove saw in six visits 35 people speed and the A4136 at Brierley saw in seven visits 29 people speed.
The speed detection vans will continue to visit other areas across the county and operate on most days of the year.
