ROLL up, roll up for the family friendy St Briavels Carnival this Saturday (June 9), which has been going strong for more than half a century.
Floats and fancy dress competitors will assemble at “the Tump” beside the castle around 1.30pm, and judging starts prompt at 1.45pm before the procession makes its way through the village to the playing fields.
The licensed bar will be open in the pavilion and tea and cakes will also be available from the kitchen.
Other refreshments around the field including a hog roast, burgers and hotdogs and ice cream.
There will be plenty to see and do including performances by Djabot Drummers, a ukelele display by Lightly Twned, a Zumba display and morris dancers.
Spokeswoman Tessa Charley said: "For children’s entertainment we have inflatables, trampolines, children’s rides, races and beat the goalie, while for the adults we have craft stalls, a coconut shy and skittles.
"This is a special day in our village’s calendar and every effort is made to make it an enjoyable one."
Entrance is by programme only, at a cost of £1 per adult and 50p for children and concessions.
