I WOULD like to point out to Mr John Timbrell that if he wishes to alter anything that he thinks the Forest of Dean  councillors are doing wrong then  please, at the next council election, try to get on the council.

I have been told that you can only fight from the inside and not on the outside to alter anything.

If elected he will soon know our allowance is not £15,000 a year, just £4,500 less 20 per cent tax.

If we are breaking the law, as stated by him, I would have thought our legal department would inform the councillors of this situation and stop this illegal practice at once.

– Cllr Gethyn Davies, (Con), Forest of Dean District Council, Tidenham.
