DESPITE some showers, the Westbury Court care home summer fete managed to raise £320 for its residents’ amenities fund.

The fete included a wide range of stalls from bric a brac to “soak the carer”. Prizes were donated from friends, staff and residents, and the raffle winner received a £30 meal voucher at the Red Lion at Westbury and cider from the Apple Orchard Tree campsite at Adsett.

The Forest of Dean University of the Third Age and Mindsong provided the afternoon ukulele entertainment while guests enjoyed a barbeque, ice cream and cake.

The funds raised will help provide funds for residents’ trips out and treats.
