I?AM?writing to express my disappointment with the article on the front page of your paper and the headline 'Lakers to be homes site?'
This was a hugely misleading article and the sensationalist headline itself will surely have given rise to great concern among students and parents of students at Lakers, as well as members of the wider community.
You have a responsibility to the people of the Forest of Dean to report in an unbiased and honest way, and I do not feel that you have done so with this article. To quote 'reputable sources' and 'a councillor' without mentioning any names is surely 'tabloid style reporting', not what we want from our local paper.
Lakers School, its staff and students, have worked incredibly hard for the last 12 months to push standards up even higher, and to receive such a positive result from our recent Ofsted inspection. This is what should have been celebrated on your front page. Instead that report was tucked away on page 18.
I hope that you feel it is appropriate to make amends for this in the next issue of your paper.
