We learn this week that the Government wants all of the Forest Not For Sale notices taken down and that if the public don't oblige, the Forestry Commission will be told to do this.  Anybody reading the public consultation document can see that much sale is on the agenda, contrary to Mr Harper's repeatedly declarations at the public consultation at the Main Place in Coleford.  It is repeatedly referred to in the consultation document.  Our democracy has fought hard for free speech and I understand that the response to the Government's wish to take down the signs will culminate in another rally at Speech House on Saturday February 19.

I hope people will continue to 'speak' by using notices in their car and home windows, for my free speech is definitely not up for grabs.  I have tried to stay rational and open minded throughout the debate but this 'takes the biscuit'.  Please also remember that we do not have until April 21 for consultation, as suggested.  The Public Bodies Bill will be debated in parliament on February 28 (set back from February 14).  That is the bill that will allow any further action and letters should be directed to Lords before that date.  Lords' contacts can be found on the web freechalice@ yahoo.co.uk
