SHOPPERS at Labels in Ross had the chance to talk about all things turkey with the store's farm shop expert.
Chrys Titshall helped foodies make the right decision when it comes to their Christmas meat by giving samples and tips.
With over 30 years' experience in the meat industry, Chrys is already quite used to the limelight – he featured in Rick Stein's first series of Food Heroes on BBC Two and has clocked up a variety of awards for his products including winning the National Champion of Champion award for his classic pork sausage.
"It was an exciting day for foodies. The event was a fantastic opportunity for our visitors to try before they buy their meat for the Christmas table," said Labels' executive chef, Phil Whittall. "The tasters of Herefordshire Rib of Beef, Copas Bronze turkey and succulent outdoor raised pork from local farms were all well received. Our own Labels' festive recipe chipolata sausages proved to be particularly popular."
The next festive tasting event at Labels is planned for Saturday, December 13 where there will be tasty treats, demonstrations and carols.
The closing date for meat orders for Christmas is 9am on Thursday, December 4.
