A 19-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an incident at a 24-hour petrol station.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said items were stolen from the Rogiet BP station at around 1.40am on Monday.
The arrested man is reportedly from the local area. No one was hurt in the incident.
A police helicopter was seen over the village duirng the early hours of the morning, alongside a heavy police presence on the ground.
The Gwent Police spokesman said officers would like to hear from any witnesses that may have seen a man in the area during the morning.
He is described as white, of slim build, around 5ft 10in tall, and was wearing a black jacket and white gloves.

In a seperate incident, the Cellar Bar in Newport Road, Caldicot, was also targeted overnight between Sunday and Monday following the first day’s trading by the new licencees.
A pub spokesperson posted: “We are totally devastated and sorry to inform you that we will be closed today until further notice as someone/people decided to break in and rob us last night sometime between 10.30pm and 7.30am this morning.”
“We are totally gutted and upset by the whole event.. yesterday was our first day trading.”
