I WOULD like, through the Review, to say a big "thank you" to all the people who have given support to Dean Hall School during our round of consultation meetings.

The number of people who have attended the meetings has been wonderful and the positive message about how we want Dean Hall School to stay open in the Forest has been overwhelming. One thing that has come over loud and clear is the message that although we have shown the strength of feeling to the Local Education Authority members who are at the meetings we should all follow this up by writing to Dr Stephen Huggett, head of SEN, Gloucestershire County Council, Shire Hall, Gloucester, GL1 2TP.

If you feel strongly that Dean Hall School should remain open and carry on the excellent job it is doing at present, please write to Dr Huggett and tell him so.

The letters have to be in by March 9, so could you please get them in by that date.

The last of the consultation meetings takes place this Thursday and I would appeal to anyone who has not yet put their points forward to do so then as this is the last chance to speak up. These meetings are not only for parents of special needs children. If you are the parent of a mainstream child and there are children with learning difficulties or behavioural difficulties in their class taking more than their fair share of the teacher's time, please come and tell the authority how you feel about it before it's too late. – Wendy Wilding, parent governor, Dean Hall School, Forest View, Bowson Road, Bream.
