VOLUNTEERS raised £1,350 for Macmillan Cancer Support by selling mistletoe at the Tesco store in Lydney.

Organiser Bridget Marshall says that is the best result in the 10 years she has been having the stall a few days before Christmas.

She said: “The mistletoe was kindly donated by friends at Popes Hill, Elton, Awre and Brains Green.

“A big thank you also to Tesco and all local people who gave so generously.  

“During the day many people told of how much Macmillan nurses have helped members of their family and supported them during their struggle with cancer and it was encouraging to receive donations from survivors too
