ELLWOOD Review distributor Jack Reed, 15, is fast becoming noticed in the world of bicycle road racing thanks to the generous people on his Milkwall round.
Good tips at Christmas from well-wishers have spurred him on his way, helping to fund a new bike and helping with expenses, said his father Chris.
"Jack took up cycle road racing last year after being inspired by the Beijing Olympics in 2008," said Chris.
"While only hoping to be competitive in a few races in his first season, Jack found that he was actually quite good and able to hold his own against boys who had been racing for several years.
"By the end of the season, riding for Epic cycles, he had won a series at Cheltenham race course, the Litchfield series and the 15-race Castle Combe summer series. He also won a stage of the Youth tour of Wales. He has been ranked 8th in his age group in British cycling's National rankings.
"The people on his Review rounds have shown great interest. In November Jack sent out a leaflet explaining what he hopes to achieve in 2010 and offering his services in grass cutting, dog walking and painting to put money into a cycling fund."
Jack has now joined Chippenham Wheelers cycling club and is slowly building up to the start of the season.
Chris said Jack would like to thank everyone on his Review rounds who has supported him in the last year and to assure them he will do his best to put Ellwood on the map.
