BADGERS rustle through the undergrowth, a deer stands in a clearing, an owl swoops...and it's all depicted on a set of fingernails!
The miniature work of art, which has been lovingly crafted by Keiko Venner of Salon K Nails and Beauty in Monmouth, won third place in its class at the Nailympics in London – the beauty trade's equivalent of the Olympics.
"It was a really good experience and I'm very pleased," said Keiko, who worked on the entry for two weekends.
There were entrants from 26 countries and the winner of her group came from Australia.
"Last year I entered a work in Birmingham Nailtex based on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and took fifth place, so this is my second attempt and I have done much better. I will definitely be entering next year!"
