WEEKS of hard work learning lines and making scenery came together as schools across the Forest put on their Christmas shows.

Most shows included a traditional Nativity with Mary and Joseph in a wider story and there were also that other Christmas staple, the panto.

The backdrop at St John’s Academy in Coleford included a Tardis as Doctor Who and Amy Pond travelled through time to see the birth of Jesus and how the event was celebrated 2,000 years later.

There was also a Nativity at Wyedean School in Sedbury but performed entirely in Spanish.

The scene was part of the first international market held by the modern foreign languages department and which also included a Christmas sketch in French.

At Coalway Junior School, the children put on a madcap and entertaining panto Aladdin Trouble.
