SOME £6,700 raised from a family fun day in memory of a Lydney teenager – who died in 2014 – has been presented to two charities.

Tyler Davis was just 18 years-old when he committed suicide after a five-year battle with depression.

His mum, Sharon, and family friends organised an event in his memory at Lydney Rugby Club in August for Mind and Winston’s Wish.

Just two weeks later, Sharon did a 15,000ft sky dive despite never going in a plane before and having a fear of heights.

The money will help bereaved children and those suffering with mental health issues.

Sharon presented the cheques on Sunday, she said: “The presentation went well it was a lovely evening with all the important people being there. The total amount of money raised is £6,700 and that has been split between the two charities which will be of enormous help to them. My sky dive was absolutely awesome – I want to do it again. I can’t even begin to explain the rush you get.”
