POLICE arrested three Newent men after stopping a car in Gloucester and seizing Class A drugs.

The vehicle was halted on the A40 as police put into place an intelligence-led operation.

Gloucestershire Police said officers from the Specialist Operations Team acted on Monday, September 3, to bring the vehicle to a halt in Gloucester, and a search uncovered drugs inside.

Two men from Newent, aged 43 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

A 33-year-old man, from the same town, was arrested on suspicion of the manufacture and production of class A drugs.

The three were later released pending further investigation.
