FOREST businessman Roger Davey is jetting off to Russia later this month on his 10th mission to help upgrade a children's hospital in Petersburg.
Roger, who runs a well known electrical business at Fetter Hill, will be one of a team of builders, plumbers, carpenters and electricians working for a charity determined to bring the hospital up to date.
Over the years he has helped improve operating theatres and an eye care unit and this time he will be working on a mother and baby unit.
He is travelling on his own and will fly out on June 23 in advance of the main party to prepare the groundwork. He returns on July 7.
"Volunteers of all trades are always welcome and I would like to hear from any local people - especially a general builder - who would be interested in taking part in a future visit," said Roger.
Sponsorship is a vital part of the programme and Roger is particularly looking for help from anyone who can donate hand tools such as drills to help in the project.
"We have our own store at the hospital so we can keep the tools safe between our visits," he said.
Local companies are supporting the project by donating tools as well as money and among them Roger Davis, of Toolite, made a contribution this week.
Anyone who can help can drop hand tools into Roger's workshop at Fetter Hill.
