A GIANT inflatable planetarium whisked pupils from Coalway Junior School away on a journey through the solar system and beyond.
The out-of-this-world experience was brought to the school hall by 'Space Odyssey' – a mobile planetarium run by Simon Ould. The Year five children learnt about the Sun, Earth and Moon as well as the other planets and stars.
Teachers Mrs Moore and Miss Allford described the experience as "a super start to our space theme.
"The children were all amazed and learnt so much in a short period of time."
Gracie, 10, said afterwards: "It felt like you were actually in space".
Thomas, also 10, described the experience as: "unforgettable – the graphics were breathtaking".
The children and staff were very impressed with the visit and would highly recommend it – cheaper than a school trip to outer space.
The day was summarised in the words of Rhys (aged 10) as: "The best day in school ever".
