TO Dial-a-Ride staff (Review, March 25). Don't make me laugh.
So the problem is what? You have had cheap services and now the council do not want you. Do not start to moan.
I am a small taxi company that was informed my services were no longer needed as Dial-a-Ride would be taking over my route. I was so naive I asked what I had done wrong. Answer, nothing. But as Dial-a-Ride are subsidised by the council they were cheaper.
I had to tell two drivers they were no longer needed. Then we were informed taxi companies needed to be wheelchairs adaptable by 2012. So I bought a vehicle because I could imagine the rush in 2012. I have used my wheelchair car a few times (not often). Oh, I do get the odd call from the hospitals asking for my services but it is before 7am and after 5pm. Sorry, I cannot and will not do these journeys when we are being undercut by the council.
So do not complain. It is your councils that are to blame.
