ROSS-ON-WYE hair and beauty salon Reds Hair Company have done it again.
Apprentice stylists Kelly Bishop and Gavin Kyte achieved gold and bronze respectively at the national finals of the skills show at Birmingham NEC.
Faced with tough competition against hundreds of hairdressing trainees throughout the country at regional level, the pair won a place in the national final.
The 16 young finalists spent three days creating five different looks from bridal to precision colouring and cutting and sharp gents haircuts.
They received their award at a glittering awards ceremony at the NEC in front of several hundred supporters.
This is the second year Kelly has won a gold medal.
Claire Winnall, director of Reds, said: "It’s the commitment and enthusiasm to training is what has made this possible. Kelly and Gavin have worked very hard and it was a pleasure to see this hard work pay off. They have benefited from the experience and talent that Reds seniors have been able to pass onto them and are very proud of their team."
Kelly has now secured a place in the UK squad for WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi in 2017, and hopes to follow in the footsteps of Reds senior stylists Linzi, Hannah and Lizzie who have all represented the UK in WS competitions in previous years.
