IT'S not often a local industry has a best-selling book named after it – but that's what has just happened to Coleford pottery Reckless Designs.
And it has given ceramacist and designer Kevin Burke a nice bit of business – he's making sets of gold and black espresso coffee cups as presents from children's author Cornelia Funke to all her European publishers.
"Reckless – a story about two brothers in a magical 19th century world – was actually named after us. Cornlia Funke has been buying ceramics from us for some time," said Kevin.
"She refers to shipments of our work as tresures and says she looks forward to opening the boxes!
"She's very well known in America but less well known here – she's a sort of J.K. Rowling on the other side of the Atlantic.
"Reckless has already been a major success in the States and now a big launch is being planned right across Europe."
