IN response to True Blue, another way of looking at the Oldham by-election would be as follows:

Are the Tories blue today (excuse the pun)?

In a by-election against a Labour Party they and their mainstream media cronies claim is in disarray, and UKIP who do not have a Tory-style war chest, the Tories vote collapsed by over 50 per cent compared to the General Election.

Judging by this result the Tories could be lucky to retain 50 seats in 2020 and they may only do that well because of a very biased electoral system.

Fortunately for all this should ensure an end to two-party politics with its pantomime culture.
