THE Ross-on-Wye May Fayre is approaching fast and excitement in the town is growing, say members of the Association of Ross Traders (ART), who are organising the event.

People are applying for stalls and volunteers are contacting ART to offer their services in a variety of roles, including stewards.

"More help is urgently needed, so don't be shy in coming forward to assist with this great community event," says a spokesman.

There will be a number of entertainment areas on the day, including an open mic stage, which will be known as the 'Ross Has Got Talent' stage.

"If you want your moment of glory, and think you have skills that will entertain the audience, please do get in contact to book your slot, whether you are a musician, a singer, a poet, a dancer or a comedian.

"Local bands and entertainment acts are also invited to contact ART if they feel they can offer their services on the day. Working with limited funds the association is hoping local entertainers will be able to perform at reduced rates as the fayre is a non profit making community event.

"Sponsors are still needed, and any local businesses or companies that would like to be associated with assisting are urged to contact ART as soon as possible."
