As a relative newcomer to the area (1956), I am wondering where the town of Colford is situated. Is it to be found near Cindrford or Lydny? I ask because in your last issue (Vol 29, No.10. Week-ending March 6, 2009, 25p where sold) page 19, an article states that a poet is performing at a venue in that town, and I'm wondering which Red&White bus I should catch so as not to miss the show.
Perhaps Colford is a new development and its construction passed me by, but then, nothing surprises me these days.

Whatever is happening in Cinderford? The possibility of the Linear Park closing? The possible closure of the Police Station? The uncertainty of the Leisure Centre refurbishment? Closure of GL14. Closure of the One Stop Shop.
Do the residents of Cinderford deserve this town to be a ghost town with no facilities?
I have lived in Cinderford for 45 years and love the people in the town and the forest, and can't imagine living anywhere else, but I am getting tired of always having to fight for facilities that other towns take for granted. We can't even get another supermarket without a fight.
Lydney and Coleford get all the stores that they want, have really good leisure facilities, Lydney has a lovely park, Coleford has the main council office.
Cinderford always wanted a swimming pool, and the public raised half the money for the pool that we have – I hope that when deciding the future of the Leisure Centre, those in power will just remember this.
Come on Cinderford folk, let our MP know what we think about all the facilities that we are going to lose. I, for one, will be writing to him with all my concerns about what is going on, or rather what is not going on. We deserve the best. – Mildred Bluett, Cinderford.
