BOUQUETS of flowers have been placed near the spot in Mile End where a young mother died in a car crash in the early hours of Sunday morning (April 17).
The woman, who has been named locally as 22-year-old Lucy Vaughan, was a passenger in a blue Nissan Primera which collided with a telegraph pole on Wood Road in the village near Coleford.
It is understood Ms Vaughan leaves a four-year-old daughter.
Gloucestershire Police say the collision occurred around 1am after the car failed to stop for officers.
The driver, a 21-year-old Coleford man, was uninjured and was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been bailed until Wednesday, June 15 pending further inquiries.
Police have referred the incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as is standard practice when someone dies following police contact.
