WIND turbines...it is coming true what people said at the very beginning that drivers' attention is being drawn to the turbine visible in St Briavels as they pass through the village.

It is already known that there has been a near accident because a driver had his attention fixed on viewing the turbine which looms high and large above the village as you travel along East Street.

If the planning application for a wind turbine near Alvington is given permission the A48 could be prone to even more accidents as I understand it will be visible from various points along the road.

The people of Alvington – and anywhere else these things are proposed – should not be fooled. Here we are in late October and the St Briavels turbine has, I believe, had more days non-functioning than functioning!

People should also be made aware that the siting of these turbines will also have an impact on the saleability of surrounding properties.
