IT seems that B J King of Bristol is in danger of drowning in the sea of his own nostalgia.

Affordable houses come onto the market quite regularly. Some even overlooking his beloved rec.

I note that he lives is Bristol where property is more expensive than Tutshill — unless he lives in a garret. As a resident of 48 years, I moved to Tutshill to be close to my work.

Most of the people moving into Lydney and Tutshill have to commute to their places of work – thereby placing a heavy burden on the overstretched A48 and exacerbating the dangerous pollution on Hardwick Hill in Chepstow.

It is not a question of 'pulling up the ladder' but rather one of wishing to preserve the charm and character of Tutshill so that it remains as Mr. King remembers it.
