BEING filmed for a new kitchen makeover TV show starring Nadia Sawalha has changed the lives of Harrow Hill couple Phil and Alison Barton.

"My husband actually goes in the kitchen and cooks. He really enjoys it – before, there was only me in there!" said Alison.

Presenters Nadia Sawalha and Kerr Drummond visited often during the two weeks of filming for Kitchen SOS while the room was transformed by a Monmouth Kitchens team.

Alison had contacted the Doghouse Media film team after reading a Twitter message calling for people who wanted to change their kitchens. She said she really enjoyed the experience and especially liked working with Nadia.

"She is really lovely and she works so hard," she said. "She is also training for the London Marathon and was in the Bath run a couple of weeks ago, supporting the Chyps charity for terminally ill children which helps them to stay at home for as long as possible."

She was also delighted with the work done by Monmouth Kitchens, as was the show's assistant producer Zoe Macdonald.

"David Jenkins and the team at Monmouth Kitchens were brilliant, professional, fast, accurate, friendly and always singing!" said Zoe.

"We couldn't have asked for more from a build team. Not sure if David has a career in TV but we loved filming with him and would highly recommend him for any kitchen installation. Nadia wishes he worked closer to London."
