THE mum and brother of a teenager who died of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) will appear on national TV to talk about the education campaign they launched in the wake of the tragedy.

Natasha Scott-Falber, a pupil at Wyedean School in Sedbury, was aged just 14 when she developed TSS after using a tampon for the first time.

Her family launched the TSS Aware campaign after her death in 2013 to raise awareness of the rare infection.

Mum Mandy and brother Dan will appear on a special edition of ITV’s Jeremy Kyle Show on Friday (December 4) to talk about the condition.

They will stress that although Natasha contracted the infection after using a tampon, it can affect both men and women and has a variety of triggers.

Mrs Scott-Falber said: “It may seem an unconventional way to raise awareness, but we want to reach as many people as possible.”

The family is working with Chepstow-based Ithaca Education and Training on a presentation to Year Nine pupils in schools across south Wales.
