FOREST firm Watts Industrial Tyres is hoping to expand its Lydney rubber mill and create as many as 30 new jobs over the next two to three years.
The plans are the subject of an application before district council planners.
It is understood there are no major objections but the Environment Agency was seeking safeguards to protect the nearby watercourse from possible pollution.
Managing director of the Church Road site Doug Pearson said the expansion was necessary because production lines were already flat out.
The firm already employs hundreds of Lydney workers at the mill and in Watts Urethane.
The firm would be investing more than £8million in the new venture if planning was approved.
