LAST Wednesday evening (August 14) I was on my way home from Bristol when I managed to acquire a flat tyre, in fact the tyre was completely ruined by the time I managed to pull in.
I happened to have the type of car that has no spare wheel at all so I didn't have that option. I was in the middle of the Avonmouth industrial estate but it happened to be just after 17.30. All the National tyre replacement businesses had closed and the one I did get to answer was not interested and did not have a mobile fitting van.
I telephoned Forest of Dean Tyres in Whitecroft and Wayne Davis was working late and answered the phone. He found a tyre and came out to me and arrived just over an hour after I had spoken to him.
I cannot explain how vulnerable I felt as a single woman wondering how I was going to get home. This shows that the personal service still survives and thrives in Whitecroft.
Forest of Dean Tyres have always given me good service but this time I am exceptionally grateful and particularly to Wayne and want to say a great big thank you.
