FURTHER to Cllr Gethyn J Davies's published letter of "support" for the "ladies" of Tutshill, who, according to his letter, either attended the UKIP meeting at Tutshill or were outside the hall and did not interfere with anyone attending the meeting.

Whichever he meant I should, in response, like to offer my support for UKIP. Thank goodness there was no physical violence outside of the Tutshill meeting such as that well publicised outside a UKIP meeting elsewhere.

An assault by an individual who could not make his points successfully in debate and chose to physically assault the UKIP representative with whose views he disagreed. The police and the courts are dealing with that individual.

Mr Davies states that he attended the meeting to "listen to the misleading rubbish from the UKIP speakers."

Mr Davies is a councillor, so might it be a little disconcerting for those he represents to learn that he does not attend meetings with an open mind?

I am sure Mr Davies is rightly concerned about the possibility of his party losing support to UKIP and many will understand that but of course, if his political party would support the majority of the electorate and commit to giving us a vote on whether we should be in or out of the EU, then I am sure he could reduce his concerns considerably.

While my politics in respect of EU membership and democracy are clearly different to those of Cllr Davies, he should take heart from the news that the EU is planning to spend many tens of millions of our tax pounds on propaganda to persuade us that the EU is a good thing; presumably because they fear we might eventually be allowed the referendum the majority of people in this country wish.
