THE Forest of Dean Branch of UKIP would like to congratulate Mark Harper upon his promotion to Minister of Immigration.

With net immigration currently running at double the target figure the coalition has set for 2015, he clearly has a huge task before him. Failure to reach this target, though, will have deeply damaging results to the very fabric of our society.

However after the mess he made of selling off the Forest and then steering through Lord's reform we have our doubts.

We promise that we shall monitor his progress and will keep the electors of the Forest updated.
